# Policy Engine

## Overview

The Policy Engine is where administrators define the security rules that govern how assets are deposited, withdrawn, and interacted with across your organization's accounts.

Only administrators can modify Policy Engine settings. If [multiple administrators](/user-account-and-security/roles-and-permissions/multiple-administrators.md) are enabled, changes will require multi-admin voting before they take effect.

All settings are configured at the business line level, so each business line can have its own rules independently configured based on your risk requirements. For example, a trading business line may have different withdrawal limits and whitelist rules compared to a treasury business line.
